Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine Tunnel

14 October 2022

As announced by the Quebec Transport Ministry, three of the six lanes of the Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine tunnel will be closed by the end of October 2022.

This closure will bring major traffic disruptions for Montreal and its surroundings, as traffic in both directions will share the open tunnel, with two lanes toward Montreal and one lane toward the South Shore at all time.

In order to help us manage these imponderables, we will introduce a new directive that will allow us to plan our operations accordingly. Starting October 31st, we will ask you to send us your pick up requests for these sectors before 3:00pm and/or a minimum of 2 hours before the shipper’s closing time. Otherwise, the pick up will be scheduled for the next day.

Also, we will eventually evaluate the possibilities of adding a compensatory fee to cover the additional costs generated by this closure.

Your precious collaboration will help us minimize the impacts of these three years of closure.
