This week, meet Valérie Bourret
In 2003, at the age of 13, Valérie took her first steps in the family business. Thus, Transport Bourret is her only employer on her roadmap. Being in the organization for over 15 years, she has held a plurality of positions to learn the inner workings of the company. During high school, during the summer, she held a position in customer service. At the college level, she became involved in the sales department during her internships and summer jobs. While pursuing her university studies, she worked to further develop the marketing communication aspect within the organization. This involvement during her studies led to the creation in 2014 of her current position as Quality and Marketing Manager.
Having evolved in the field of transportation since a young age, it was quite natural for Valérie to direct her career at Transport Bourret. She argues that the field of transportation is a beautiful industry, hyper dynamic and interesting. Moreover, she supports the fact that this industry is rather unknown, which represents great challenges in everyday life in addition to representing an essential service to the economy.
For Valérie, working at Transport Bourret is more than family attachment. Indeed, it is the quality of life that is offered that makes a difference in her daily life. Moreover, she mentions the physical environment in which she evolves. First, the offices and workspaces are very spacious and up to date. Then, the computer equipment is often renewed. The company also encourages the adoption and maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits. Thus, during a year, employees are invited to participate in several sports activities and the family is always welcome. In addition, employees also have access to private group training! However, Valérie points out that what makes the biggest difference is that there’s a lot of good people at Bourret, that she’s really lucky to have such amazing colleagues!
What fascinates her most in her day-to-day job is the trust her employer places in her. She mentions finding it very motivating to have the opportunity to evolve in a healthy and stimulating environment while knowing that her ideas are seriously listened to. Thanks to this, she is not afraid to get involved in new technological projects in order to always stay at the forefront of the industry.
If she were to direct her career in a completely different field, Valérie would take the path of events; planning major events or wedding events for example! In another perspective, the profession of university level teacher is also a job she would have considered!
To conclude, her greatest wish with regard to the Bourret Group is that the company continues to evolve as it currently stands. In addition, Valérie wants the organization to succeed in the coming years, despite the significant labor challenges facing the trucking industry. On a different note, she wants the company to stay in the family, to surpass the 4th, 5th and 6th generations and even beyond that!
